By trade, I am a light novel author publishing under GF Bunko. Ever since winning the 14th GF Newcomer Award at age 18 with my debut novel,The Silvery Landscape (銀色景色), critics and readers have called me a "literary prodigy." But honestly? I don't calculate plot structures or follow textbook storytelling formulas. When inspiration strikes, the scenery simply floods into my skull, and my fingers move on their own like a runaway train.
The Light in the Dark
During my middle school years, relentless bullying crushed me completely. I stopped attending school, severed all contact with society, and spent years cooped up inside a dark room as a shut-in hikikomori. I had lost the will to exist.
The thing that saved my life wasn't words of sympathy or therapy — it was picking up the debut novel of an unknown author named Itsuki Hashima. His passion, raw vulnerability, and sheer love for creation rekindled a blazing fire inside my hollow chest. From that instant onwards, my fundamental operating principle in life has been 100% love for Itsuki-senpai. He is my savior, my eternal muse, and my beloved.
On Writing and Sensations
People often ask about my creative habits. Here is the unvarnished truth:clothing is the ultimate enemy of artistic expression. Constrictive fabric chokes imagination and cuts off blood flow to the brain! When I sit before my keyboard, I cast off every piece of clothing and let the cold air touch bare skin. If you ever drop by my apartment while a manuscript deadline is ticking down, don't be shocked — just leave some food by the door. My poor editor, Toki-san, has had to make peace with this eccentricity long ago.
